Almost every Saturday night I see young people crying. I use the word ‘people’ because it is NOT limited to girls….boys have feelings too.
As I sit on our Taxi rank waiting for a fare, I cannot help but hear the fatal words “Your Dumped” being used. Sometimes it is face to face but a lot of the time it is by text message. A cruel cowardly way but a sign of the times I’m afraid.
There is a low wall along side the taxi rank and this is like the ‘Wailing Wall’ when it comes to lost love. Girls will sit crying into their mobile (cell) phone or on the shoulder of their best friend and tell them they just can’t go on. Boys don’t do ‘physical contact’ with their mates but the conversation is virtually the same and most if it is made worse when fuelled by alcohol. A lot of the ‘break ups’ are alcohol related !
With tears streaming down their face they tell their troubles and it is all overheard by all the taxi drivers. Some of it can be amusing but some are very sad long time relationships that are ending and a lot of these usually involve another person. Everything seems to come to a head after drinking when the ‘Dutch Courage’ kicks in.
So what can they do ?? Can they get their loved one back ?? Does their ex still love them ??
Last night I heard a young woman on her mobile phone, crying to her boyfriends answer service, “I still really love you babe, please talk to me, I’m really, really F***ING sorry. Please, please answer me ’cause I really F***ING care about you. You know how much I F***ING love you”
Now, maybe I’m old fashioned but that would make me NOT want to call her back….what is it these days with the foul language in a ‘love’ relationship? She definitely needs to read “The Magic Of Making Up”
Have a look at the video’s below and see if that can help. I might be a callous taxi driver when it comes to ‘stepping over’ a drunken fool but even taxi drivers have feelings! And it’s not just ‘overheard conversations’ that we hear …we get a lot of stories from customers while we drive them home.
Girls don’t tend to say too much but boys go the other way. I suppose it is talking to a stranger that helps bring out the male feelings (the alcohol also loosens the tongue) and at first I didn’t know what to say but after reading The Magic Of Making Up, holding these conversations and giving my advice is now an easy thing. It is surprising what you hear from a big 6 foot man about his girlfriend. How she is the best thing that happened to him and how he misses her etc. etc. My advice? You will find it all here and it is worth it for saving you the agony.
This natural thing of selecting a mate can prove to be the hardest thing of all if the mate is not ‘reading from the same page’. What seemed to be the perfect partner doesn’t always see you the same way and getting them back is not an easy thing to do BUT it is made easier in The Magic Of Making Up.
UPDATE: I just got a big ‘Thank You’ from a girl I took home after her boyfriend (who was drunk and stupid) dumped her. I told her about The Magic of Making Up etc and now she is back with him and is a ‘happy chappie’.
